Jolidays Privacy Policy

Jolidays (“we”, “us”) provides an app to help users discover days out and tourist destinations in the UK.

What this policy covers

This policy explains what information Jolidays accesses, collects, uses, and shares when you use the app.

Privacy policy availability

We also provide access to this policy within the app (for example via Settings / About).

Information we collect and use

1) Analytics (Firebase)

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve features and reliability.

Firebase Analytics may collect information such as:

• App interactions (for example, screens viewed and which features are used)
• Device and app information (for example, device model, operating system version, app version)
• Approximate location may be derived by Google from IP address when connecting to online services

We use this information to:

• Measure usage and improve the app
• Diagnose issues and improve stability

2) Location (GPS)

Jolidays can use your device location if you grant permission. Location is used to provide location-based features (for example, showing what’s nearby and helping you navigate).

• Precise location (GPS): only used when you enable it and grant permission
• Approximate location: may be used where supported by your device settings/permissions

We do not send your GPS location to our own server for storage as part of the core app experience.

3) Feedback you submit

Jolidays includes a feedback form where you can send comments (bug reports, problems, suggestions).

When you submit feedback, we collect:

• The message content you type (which may include personal information if you choose to include it)
• Basic diagnostic context (for example: platform, OS version, device model, and app version if included)
• The time the feedback was sent

How it’s processed today: feedback is sent to us via email for support purposes.

How it may be processed later: we may store feedback in a support system or database for a period of time to track and resolve issues. If we do, we will continue to use it only for support, debugging, and product improvement.

Advertising (not currently enabled)

Jolidays may include adverts in a future version, provided by third-party advertising partners (for example, Google).

If adverts are enabled, ad partners may collect information such as:

• Device identifiers (which may include the Advertising ID, depending on the ad SDK and your device settings)
• Approximate location, and potentially precise location if you allow it and if we enable location-based advertising
• App interaction information relevant to ad delivery/measurement

Ad partners may use this information to:

• Display adverts
• Measure ad performance
• Personalise adverts (where permitted by your settings and applicable law)

If we enable advertising that uses location or other sensitive information for targeting, we will provide a prominent in-app disclosure and use the relevant permission/consent mechanisms available on your device.

When/if adverts are enabled, we will update our Play Store disclosures and, where required, provide appropriate in-app notices/choices.

Affiliate links (not currently enabled / may be enabled later)

Jolidays may include affiliate links to third-party websites. If you tap an affiliate link, you will be taken to a third-party site. Those third parties may use cookies or tracking parameters to attribute referrals and for their own analytics/advertising, according to their own privacy policies. We do not control how third-party sites collect or use your information.

Payments and subscriptions (planned)

Jolidays may offer paid features via the relevant app store’s purchase system (for example, Google Play Billing on Android and the Apple App Store on iOS).

• Payments are processed by the app store/provider.
• We do not receive your full payment card details.
• We may receive confirmation of purchase/subscription status (for example, that a subscription is active) to unlock features.

How we share information

We may share information with:

• Service providers that help us operate the app (for example, Google Firebase for analytics)
• Email service providers used to deliver and receive feedback messages
• Advertising partners if adverts are enabled (see “Advertising” above)
• Affiliate partners if affiliate links are enabled (see “Affiliate links” above)
• App stores/payment platforms to support purchases (for example, purchase/subscription status)

We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention and deletion

• Analytics data: retained according to our Firebase/Google Analytics settings and used for improving the app.
• Feedback messages (email): retained for up to 24 months where needed for support, debugging, and product improvement, then deleted or anonymised where practical.
• If feedback is stored in a database/support system in future: we will retain it only as long as needed for the same purposes, and review it periodically.

Deletion requests: You can request deletion of feedback you’ve sent us by emailing hello@jolidays.co.uk. Please include the approximate date/time and the text you sent so we can find it.

Your choices

• You can disable location access in your device settings at any time.
• If adverts are enabled, you can usually control ad personalisation via device settings (availability varies by platform).

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Children

Jolidays is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

International transfers

Our service providers (for example, Firebase) may process information on servers outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the app.
